呼出符号資料では、1948年7月1日に人吉のラジオ第1の呼号がJOGK-8からJOGQへ変更されたとされています。ここからJOGQの最初の時代が始まります。Call-sign records state that on 1 July 1948 the Hitoyoshi Radio 1 identifier changed from JOGK-8 to JOGQ, beginning the first JOGQ era.

1953年の資料ではJOGQ・人吉は1160 kHz付近に掲載されており、後年の1240 kHzとは異なります。周波数は時期によって変更されていたことが分かります。A 1953 dial reference places JOGQ Hitoyoshi at 1160 kHz, different from the later 1240 kHz assignment. This is useful evidence that the frequency changed over time.

『Broadcasting Stations of the World』は、人吉のNippon Hoso Kyokai 1をJOGQ、1240 kHz、1,000 Wとして掲載しています。ラジオ第2はJOGV、1600 kHz、1,000 W。Broadcasting Stations of the World lists Nippon Hoso Kyokai 1 at Hitoyoshi as JOGQ, 1240 kHz, 1,000 W. Radio 2 is listed as JOGV on 1600 kHz, also at 1,000 W.

人吉のラジオ第1・JOGQとラジオ第2・JOGVは、この日付で呼出符号廃止とする資料が複数あります。これは中継放送そのものの消滅とは区別して考える必要があります。Multiple call-sign references record both Hitoyoshi Radio 1 JOGQ and Radio 2 JOGV as withdrawn on this date. The withdrawal of a call sign should be distinguished from the end of relay broadcasting itself.
2026年：NHK熊本へ資料照会2026: archive enquiry to NHK Kumamoto
JOGQ.COMからNHK熊本へ、1960年代のJOGQに関する資料について問い合わせました。NHK熊本は、同局に保管されている資料を慎重に確認したものの、JOGQに関する情報は見つからなかったと回答しました。
JOGQ.COM asked NHK Kumamoto about surviving material relating to JOGQ in the 1960s. NHK Kumamoto replied that, after carefully reviewing the documents stored there, it was unable to locate any information concerning JOGQ.
